Have you ever wanted to try your hand at dyeing your own yarn or fabric? Indie Dyer Jennifer Vancalcar of Holiday Yarns brings you this exciting new Dye-Your-Own class. You have a choice of what you want to dye: yarn or silk scarves! Students of all ages and levels are welcome, no previous experience required or special skill set needed.
Students will receive either 2 skeins of yarn or 2 silk scarves to dye in the colors of their choosing. Yarn dyers will learn how to hand paint their yarn to produce beautiful tonal, variegate or pooling effects when knit. Silk Scarf dyers will have the opportunity to create stunning water-colored looking scarves. Along the way, students will also learn some color theory. At the end of the class, you will walk away with 2 finished products: 2 skeins of one-of-a-kind sock yarn or 2 one-of-a-kind silk scarves! Registration required, class size limited to 12.
Note about materials:
The sock yarn you will be dyeing is Holiday Yarns’ Flocksock Sock Yarn (75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon)
Silk Scarves measure 11” x 76” and comes as an infinity scarf.
Potential allergy issues: the yarn we are working with is 75% Superwash Merino wool. Gloves, dye and fabric/yarn will be provided.

Materials Needed: Clothes that you are not afraid to get dye on or an apron. Gloves, dye and fabric/yarn will be provided.
Materials Fee: $45.00 for either 2 skeins of sock yarn OR 2 silk scarves, dyes, dye equipment, and gloves.
You must purchase an admission ticket to attend a class.
