In this class, we will be weaving a beautiful basket that includes a handle, dyed and plain reed and a ceramic basket buckle adornment. The finished basket will be 6” x 8” x 7 ½” (height). Basic basket making techniques will be taught. Students must have basic fine motor skills required to participate in this class; cutting, weaving reeds, not recommended for young children. You will soak the reeds in water and work with them wet, so please be prepared to maybe get a little wet. (however, the hotel will have towels if needed) You will take home a finished basket. Registration required, class limited to 16.

Materials Needed:

Scissors for cutting reed, pencil, yardstick or tape measure, dish pan (for soaking reed), 12 spring-type clothespins, an old towel, a small awl or slot head (flat) screwdriver.

Homework: None

Materials Fee: $30.00 which will include all materials needed to complete the basket, payable to the instructor in class.

You must purchase an admission ticket to attend a class.
